Women’s Discipleship

Here at Pillar, we are passionate about equipping women for the good work God has given us to steward in Okinawa. We seek to fulfill this call by being “Word-filled women” who gather to hear and follow God’s voice as revealed in His Word and who are sent out on mission to faithfully proclaim the gospel and make disciples of all nations, starting here in Japan.

While COVID-19 has introduced some new challenges for how we gather as women, we are actively working to find creative ways to grow and build community in this season. Throughout the year, we host several Bible, book studies, and equipping events as well as coffee connections and gospel rehearsal meals, which are times for women at Pillar to gather and connect over coffee or a meal.

If you have any questions about engaging in Pillar’s women’s discipleship ministry, please reach out to our Women’s Discipleship Coordinator, Lauren Dalton at [email protected].

During the winter, spring, and fall seasons, Pillar women alternate between Bible studies and book studies as an expression of our commitment to know God by deeply studying His Word. A few of our past studies include inductively studying the book of Jonah, Courtney Doctor’s From Garden to Glory study, and Lifeway’s Advent study. This coming year, we hope to study the book of Nehemiah as well as gather to read rich Christian books such as Delighting in the Trinity by Michael Reeves.

Our current study runs on Tuesday mornings and evenings from April 13 – May 25. We are learning how to enjoy Jesus through the spiritual disciplines as we go through Habits of Grace and the accompanying workbook by David Mattis. We have a morning gathering at Pillar Church from 9:30-11:30 am and an evening gathering on Kadena Air Base from 7:00-8:30 pm. Childcare is provided for the morning study only.

Registration for this study is currently closed.
