Women’s Discipleship

WHAT TO EXPECT

Here at Pillar, we are passionate about equipping women for the good work God has given us to steward in Okinawa. We seek to fulfill this call by being “Word-filled women” who gather to hear and follow God’s voice as revealed in His Word and who are sent out on mission to faithfully proclaim the gospel and make disciples of all nations, starting here in Japan. 

Throughout the year, we host several Bible, book studies, and equipping events as well as coffee connections and gospel rehearsal meals, which are times for women at Pillar to gather and connect over coffee or a meal. We also host an annual women’s retreat, which typically takes place in the Spring.

WOMEN’S WEEKLY STUDY

During the winter, spring, summer, and fall seasons, Pillar women alternate between Bible studies and book studies as an expression of our commitment to know God by deeply studying His Word. A few of our past studies include inductively studying the book of Habakkuk, Jonah, Jude, and Nehemiah, Courtney Doctor’s From Garden to Glory study, and Thune and Walker’s Gospel Centered Life study. We recently concluded a survey of Matthew, followed by a deep dive into the Sermon on the Mount, using Jen Wilkin’s study to guide us.
